District 16 Star Award

The District 16 Star Awards honor volunteers who work steadfastly at the unit level to promote bridge and to further unit activities.

It was established in 1995, formerly the Texas Star Awards. Much like the Oswald and James Jacoby Service Award, the District 16 Star Awards are meant to honor worthy volunteers. Unlike the Jacoby Award, the Star awards honor unit-level workers for service performed in their own units. Each unit’s Board of Directors is responsible for selecting its D16 Star award recipient.  Once a recipient is selected, the president conveys the information to the District Awards Chair. If a unit does not select a recipient, no award is given that year for that unit.

A recipient is eligible to receive only one D16 Star Award, so previous awardees are not eligible. To see who has received this award,  click here.
